Description
The CBST2 is a fast, customizable, and accessible test for assessing essential workplace problem-solving skills using a sleek, user-friendly interface. It measures mathematical reasoning, abstract reasoning, verbal reasoning, critical reasoning, and checking accuracy. It is shorter than CBST (20 minutes) when selecting the Math and Verbal modules (8 minutes), which is what original CBST measures.
Format
CBST2 is comprised of 5 modules: mathematical reasoning, abstract reasoning, verbal reasoning, critical reasoning, and checking accuracy.
When creating the job, select the components you want to assess your candidates for.

Candidates will be presented with 10 multiple choice questions for each module selected. They will have a maximum of 1 minute to answer each question. Each module generally takes about 4 minutes to complete (candidates usually don't take the full 1 minute per question).
Language
CBST2 is only available in English, applicable across different English-speaking countries (no localizations in-text).
Candidate experience
The CBST2 is device-agnostic so candidates can take the test on any digital device they choose – a mobile phone, tablet, laptop or desktop – in any location and at any time.
The assessment is designed with accessibility in mind. A toggle allows you to easily administer a screen-reader friendly version of the test for candidates who require this accommodation. Contact our Customer Support Team to learn more.

Score Reports
Each individual is given a percentile score, which is a relative performance metric that indicates how the individual scored relative to others who have taken the test. For example, a percentile score of 45 means that an individual scored better than 45% of the group on which the test was normed.
Sub-scores are provided for each skill assessed.
Score Ranges
The CBST2 includes a series of suggested score ranges that help you understand how each candidate’s results meet the range that has been associated with successful performance in various roles. These ranges are based on large samples of prior scores from individuals applying for or occupying similar roles and are supported by multiple validation studies.
Validity Information
The CBST2 was constructed through a rigorous and scientifically robust process, from the development of the initial items through to the psychometric validation of the assessment. The tests have been extensively structurally validated with real candidate data. Individual results on the CBST2 have also been demonstrated to be highly reliable and consistent.
The norms for CBST2 were based on applicant data, with participants working across a variety of industries and residing across a diverse range of countries. The total sample was 81,176 individuals.
