Develop Checklist for Managers

Welcome to Develop by Criteria! Here's how to introduce Develop to your team.

Week 1

What Next?

1️⃣ Activate your Develop profile

If you have not yet signed up to your organization's Develop account and created your profile, you will be invited to complete this step.

Complete the remaining tasks.

2️⃣ Take the TEAMscan

Time required: 5 minutes

Open your email from Criteria inviting you to complete the TEAMscan. If you did not receive this email, let your manager know.

Log in to Develop and view the percentage of people on your team who have completed the TEAMscan. 

Remind individual team members to take the TEAMscan. 

Tip: Set aside 15 minutes in a live meeting and take it as a team. 

3️⃣ Discuss the TEAMscan results with your team.  

Plan on 45-60 minutes. 

You can also find this in the To Do section on your Develop home page.

Decide on one skill to practice for the next 30 days as a group. 

While viewing your team’s TEAMscan, click on Coach Bo on the bottom right, pick one of the 3 options, then chat with Bo about it.  If you’re not sure, click on the Help me build an action plan based on this team’s results option. 
Idea: Ask Bo to “Give us a fun, creative, engaging 30-day challenge to build teamwork.”  Tell Bo what you like and don’t like about its responses to refine your plan.

1️⃣ Take your personality assessment (EPP)

Time required: 10 minutes

View your Workplace Insights report.

2️⃣ Ensure everyone on your team takes these assessments. 

You can check which team members have completed by going to the Team Personality tab in your Team Profile and clicking X of X members completed.

Get advice on managing individuals. 

✅ After your team members have taken their assessments, log in to Develop and look at the profile of a specific direct report to view their Manager Guide. 

  • Find a person using the search at the top right or from your Team Profile page. 
  • Within the person’s profile, click Manager Guide tab. 

✅ Discuss this individual with Coach Bo.  

  • While viewing the Manager Guide, launch the Coach Bo chat on the bottom right.  
  • Select one of the options, e.g. “Give feedback to the person”, then chat with Coach Bo about some real feedback you’d like to give them and how to best deliver it. 

3️⃣ Review your Team Personality Results

  1. Design a personality-based challenge  
  • View your Workplace Insights report: Go to your user profile and click the Workplace Insights tab to view your personality results. 
Idea: Ask Coach Bo to help you come up with a 30-day personality-related challenge for yourself or for your team. Chat with Bo about the challenge you want to do and then commit to doing it.
  1. Get personality-driven team advice 
  • Pick one team you lead or are on 
    • Find your team. Go to the Team Personality Report. 
    • Click on Coach Bo on the bottom right.
    • Ask Coach Bo to focus on what an individual brings to the team and pick yourself.  
    • Try asking this:
    “Let's focus on me. How do my traits potentially help and also hold back the team? And what can I do about that?” 

4️⃣ Coach Bo Weekly Manager Check-in

Open the email sent from Coach Bo on Thursday morning and answer 3 quick questions about how your week is going.

Encourage your team to complete the Weekly Manager Check-ins.

Review the insights Coach Bo provides in the Monday morning reports.
